Dance Classes

Preschool Create & Move -- For ages 3-4. In our program based in creativity and play, dancers build coordination, rhythm, balance, and flexibility. We use music, movement, and games to build skills while learning various dance and tumbling techniques and terminology.
Tiny Tumblers -- For ages 3-4. Much like our Create & Move dance program, Tiny Tumblers is rooted in creativity and play. Dancers build balance, flexibility, and strength, while learning basic tumbling skills. We use music, movement, and games to build skills while learning various tumbling techniques and terminology.
Acro -- For kindergarten through high school. Acro is the fusion of the artistry of dance with the athleticism of acrobatics. We partner with Acrobatic Arts to bring a thoughtful, safe, and proven acro training to our students. There is a focus on strengths, flexibility, and balance. While doing skills, dancers must also focus on integrating musicality, emotional expression, extension, and control.
Ballet Technique -- For kindergarten through high school. Dancers will learn proper technique and ballet terminology while improving flexibility, balance, and strength in this 30 minute class. This class is strongly recommended for all students and is required for competition team members.
Jazz -- For kindergarten through high school! Fun music, strong movement, high energy, big smiles - you’ll find all of this in our jazz program. We train jazz dance technique, fundamentals, and put together exciting routines in this 30 minute class.

Hip Hop -- For kindergarten through adult! This class focuses on the many styles and grooves of hip hop dance. This high energy class uses age appropriate music and movement for every level, and dancers will learn skills, tricks, and fun routines.
Tap -- Grades 1 through 12. This is a class that focuses on a variety of tap styles and techniques that help to build rhythm and balance. Techniques will be explored through combinations and improvisations.

Lyrical/Contemporary -- For Middle and High School. This class teaches dancers to listen to and respond to music. We use a combination of dance styles and focus on expression to bring stories and dances to life. Dancers will learn tricks and skills that will be practiced and explored through combinations and improvisation.
Ballet for Fitness / Strength & Conditioning--These innovative programs are designed to help students better understand the correct muscle initiation and body alignment that is required for dance. Dancers will explore exercises improve flexibility, strength, and coordination, and they will gain a greater understanding of their body. This understanding and the skills learned will be carried with dancers throughout their entire dance training. We also bring in other elements of strength and conditioning training to prepare our dancers for the endurance required for dance classes.

Pointe -- Instructors consent is required for this class. Students must be enrolled and attending weekly ballet technique classes. Dancers will learn proper pointe technique and apply ballet technique to pointe work in both center and across floor combinations.

**Please note: Classes are divided into age groups as a guide, but placement is at the sole discretion of the instructor.

Summer Camp
Students age 3 years old thru 12th grade--
Offering a variety of classes for the different age groups during June and July.

POP-UP Classes
These are offered throughout the year! Follow our Facebook page for availability and registrations, or contact us for more information!

Tiny Tots -- Parent and child class for children 18 months- 3 years old
Tiny Dancers-- For dancers age 2-3 years old
Boy's Hip Hop -- Boys Only!! (Well, except for the teacher!)
Kinesiology -- For dancers in 6th-8th grade
Ballet and Brunch -- Ballet for beginners and bruch (must be 21+).

Competition Team
The Comp Squad is for dancers who want to make dance their "thing". If you love to dance, and it's the thing you want to work hardest to excel at, you could be an excellent candidate.
These are the basic requirements to apply:

Open to dancers kindergarten and up, who have danced at Fusion for a minimum of 1 year.
Enthusiastic work ethic
Dedication to improving as a dancer over the summer, with intensives, classes, and/or completion of personal assignments from teachers.
Available for choreography sessions and all rehearsals. We will schedule choreography camp to learn routines in August, and then rehearsals as scheduled throughout the season.
Available for competition dates Spring 2024 (usually one in March, one in April.) Competitions are in the Des Moines area.
**Schedule for the full season of rehearsals and Spring Competitions provided no later than Camp in August.

There is also a larger financial commitment than recreational classes due to travel, registration fees, costumes, and increased studio time. If you love to dance and want to take your dancing above and beyond, this may be a great opportunity or you! Contact Miranda for more information!

All classes begin in the fall of the year (the week after Labor Day) and continue through the spring Recital in May. New students are encouraged to begin during summer sessions and continue classes in the fall!

2024-2025 Tuition Rates & Fees

Any 30 minute class - $45 / 8 Autopay Installments ($360) due each month September to April
Discounts Available

Sibling Discount - 5% off total tuition
Dancer enrolled in 3 classes - 10% discount
Dancer enrolled in 4 classes - 12% discount
Dancer enrolled in 5 or more classes - 15% discount

Recital Fee - $25

Includes a recital t-shirt and recital recording
Billed in October, Due December 1st.
**NO tickets included in recital fee this year.

All students need a Green Fusion T-shirt for Christmas Cabaret
Shoes:

Ballet Half Soles - $20 + tax
Jazz Shoes - $32 + tax
Contemporary Socks - $8 + tax

Costumes for Spring Show (Billed October 1st -- Due December 1st):

Ballet Costume - $40; also will need Fusion Black Tank and Spandex, Ballet half soles
Hip Hop Costume - $0; will need Green Fusion Tee, Sweats and tennis shoes
Create & Move Costume - $65
Acro costume - $0; will need Fusion Black Tank and Spandex
Jazz Costume - $30; also will need Fusion Black Tank, Spandex and jazz shoes
Contemporary Costume - $0; need Fusion Black Tank and Spandex
Tap Costume - $0 fee; need Green Fusion Tee, sweats, and tap shoes
