Parents and Students:: Wow-- What a great start to our year!! Classes are in swing, and it has been great to have the kids back after a great summer! Recital music has been chosen and a few of the classes have started learning new choreography! There are quite a few new kiddos this year, so we’ve been working on LOTS and LOTS of technique. This newsletter contains some VERY important information and updates, so please read carefully!! Recital Dates:: Recital has been set for Thursday, May 24th and Friday, May 25th! Get it marked down on your calendar right away!! Recital will once again be held at Hanson Auditorium in Manchester. It was a huge success last year, and each of the dancers was fantastic! Let’s look forward to another great recital! New Studio:: We are blessed to be in a new space this year! I have been so excited to get in there and get settled, and I think the kids are enjoying it as well, especially the new ballet barre and chalkboards! A few things to remember: -- Kids are welcome to wait in the loft before class starts and while they’re waiting to get picked up, but PLEASE remind them to be respectful of the dancers downstairs. -- The mat by the door is for shoes; please put bags and gear in the window. Parent Observation:: Parents and visitors are invited to observe during the first class of each month through February. After this point, we will be cleaning and finalizing recital pieces, and we want to save some surprises for the show! Also, the loft will serve as the “Observation Deck” so the dancers will have their space to move. And PLEASE remember to remove your shoes! Costume Deposit:: Costume information will be sent home shortly. A costume deposit of $30 is due for each student by the end of October. This will be deducted from your costume total, and for most students will cover most of their costume cost. I will send a reminder home at the end of the month. The Nutcracker @ Gallagher-Bluedorn:: Mallory Zieser will be performing in the Minnesota Ballet’s “The Manhattan Nutcracker” on Friday, November 18, and Sunday, November 20. Plan on attending for a great performance and to support Mallory! To purchase tickets, visit www.gbpac.org or call (319) 273-4TIX. Tickets start at only $17 for adults, and kids’ tickets are only $1! Auto-Pay:: If you are interested in this service, contact me to learn how to sign up! That’s about all for news and notes this month! As always, if you have any concerns, questions, or thoughts, never hesitate to get ahold of me! Keep dancing, Miranda
