Parents and Students:: Well, Halloween has passed us, and that means one thing this year at Fusion DanceWorks: Time to get ready for Christmas! Yes, yes, I know it seems so early, and I don’t mean to skip Thanksgiving. However, we are preparing for something very special for the Christmas season… The Christmas Cabaret:: Fusion DanceWorks, partnering with Cafe Rose, will be hosting a Christmas Cabaret performance and dinner show this December. There is A LOT of information, so read this section twice! Throughout the next six weeks, dancers will be learning special Christmas dances to be performed at the show. While all dancers will learn the dances, performance participation will be optional but encouraged. Please let me know ASAP if your child WILL NOT BE PARTICIPATING so I can plan accordingly! Students will wear black dance pants, green t-shirts, and I will provide Santa hats. There will also be a few music and theatre selections performed at the show. Performance dates will be Saturday, December 17th and Friday, December 23rd. Performance times will be 6pm and 8:30pm each day, with younger dancers performing at the early show and older dancers performing at the later show. If those shows sell out, we will add a 2pm matinee performance on Sunday, December 18th. The sit-down dinner will be served in 4 courses, featuring an appetizer, soup/salad, a main course of your choice of Prime Rib, Salmon, or Chicken, and dessert. We can seat 40 people per show. Until the end of November, Fusion DanceWorks families have exclusive access to tickets at $25 each with your choice of floor or loft seating. Tickets will go on sale to the general public on December 5th at $30 each. This would be a great date night for parents or a fabulous Christmas present for grandparents. Definitely a show NOT TO BE MISSED!! To purchase tickets, contact Miranda, and be sure to get your tickets before December 5th! Now, onto other business... Costumes:: Just a reminder that your costume deposit of $30 is due. This amount will be subtracted from your overall costume total, and for many students will cover most of their recital costume. Costume breakdowns should be sent home before the end of November. The costume breakdown will also contain a studio-wear order form, with items that would be perfect for Christmas presents! Recital Dates:: Recital has been set for Thursday, May 24th and Friday, May 25th! Get it marked down on your calendar right away!! Recital will once again be held at Hanson Auditorium in Manchester. It was a huge success last year, and each of the dancers was fantastic! Let’s look forward to another great recital! Winter Weather:: As the weather is about to get yucky, please remember to remove your shoes on the mat in the entryway so we don’t track onto the dance floor! Also, remember that in the event of weather-related cancellation, we will not have class if Ed-Co cancels classes or has an early-out. Parent Observation:: Parents and visitors are invited to observe during the first class of each month through February. After this point, we will be cleaning and finalizing recital pieces, and we want to save some surprises for the show! Also, the loft will serve as the “Observation Deck” so the dancers will have their space to move. And PLEASE remember to remove your shoes! The Nutcracker @ Gallagher-Bluedorn:: Mallory Zieser will be performing in the Minnesota Ballet’s “The Manhattan Nutcracker” on Friday, November 18, and Sunday, November 20.
