As we finished up Halloween break, veteran students know what was to start in November — preparations for Christmas Cabaret! For those new to the studio this year, I’m excited to share this tradition with you!
Christmas Cabaret began in 2011 as a dinner show held in the studio. We had several performances for small audiences, with different dances featured at each show. It quickly became a favorite event of dancers and audiences alike. As the studio has grown, so has our audience, and the performance has changed so much in the past couple of years. This year, we will be featuring 75 dancers in our performance. The Christmas Cabaret will be held Sunday, December 17th with TWO performances - more on that below. Our show this year will feature music from A Muppet Christmas Carol (my favorite Christmas movie)! Everyone who attends receives Christmas treats, hot chocolate, and coffee, from Cafe Rose in Edgewood. Tickets for Christmas Cabaret will go on sale December 1st! Due to a growing number of students, last year I limited the number of tickets each family could purchase. This year, as an alternative, we will be running TWO SEPARATE SHOWS. Younger classes will dance at only one show, and Middle School/High School classes will dance at both. Here’s the list of what show your dancer is in: Show A - 1pm Performance Monday 4:30 class Monday 5:30 class Monday 6:30 class Monday 7:00 class Wednesday 4:15 class Wednesday 5:45 class Show B - 2:30pm Performance Tuesday 4:15 class Tuesday 5:15 class Tuesday 6:15 class Tuesday 6:45 class Monday 7:00 class Wednesday 4:15 class Wednesday 5:45 class There is NO LIMIT to the number of tickets you can purchase. However, if you have a dancer performing in both shows, PLEASE don’t double up until I’ve ensured all families have had a chance to purchase tickets. Dancers in 1st grade thru High School will wear their Green Studio T-shirt and either their Fusion Sweats or plain black leggings (either is fine). If you DO NOT have a Green Studio T-Shirt, please contact me ASAP and we’ll get you set up! Preschool and kindergarten dancers do not have a specific dress code - they just need to look cute :) Finally, if you know your dancer will NOT be performing in the Cabaret, you MUST let me know as soon as possible. Each dancer has their own spot and role in choreography, and if they will not be able to dance it, I’ll need to make adjustments to the dances. I hope everyone can join us for this very special day and performance- it’s always the perfect kick off to my week before Christmas! Thank you! And remember - Tickets go on Sale December 1st! Miranda
